Oscar completes £60 million move from Chelsea to Shanghai SIPG

Oscar have completed a mega money move to Shanghai SIPG in the Chinese Super league. The Brazilian has switched European football for Asia, aged just 25.

The Brazilian midfielder has been frozen out of Antonio Conte’s team at Stamford Bridge this season and has not started a single game since Antonio Conte switched to his new 3-4-3 system at the start of October.

Oscar had confirmed to the media that a move away from Stamford Bridge was imminent and that his time at Chelsea would most likely end in January. However, many did not see a move to China coming, until reports filtered in from China stating that the ex Corinthians midfielder is set for a move to Asia.

Chelsea Football Club, confirmed the transfer on their website, stating that the transfer will be fully completed when the window opens in January. The English giants also confirmed that an agreement has been reached with Shangai SIPG over the transfer of Oscar and that the Brazilian will play in China next year.

Chelsea however failed to officially disclose the transfer fee colleted for Oscar but reports emanating from the British media pegs the deal at a staggering £60 million for the 25-year-old play-maker. Oscar will also sign a contract which will see him earn as much as £400,000 every week.

After four and half years with Chelsea, Oscar is set to start life in the far-east Asian country, which had also poached south-americans such as Ramires, Jackson Martinez and Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Oscar transferred to Chelsea in 2012 from Corinthians and helped the English club win one premier league title and one carling cup trophy. Oscar made 203 appearances for Chelsea and also helped the Blues win the Europa League in 2012.
