2019 CAF Award Nominees Revealed

The 2019 CAF Awards is scheduled for January 7, 2020 with the announcement made on Sunday by the organizers.

The Confederation of African football have a number of categories for the ceremony.  Some of these categories include: African Player of the Year, Women’s Player of the Year, Youth Player of the Year (Men and women), National Team of the Year (men and women) and Coach of the Year (men and women).

2015 winner of the African Player of the Year, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang makes the nominees list for the sixth year on the bounce while 2018 winner, Mohammed Salah is in contention for a third individual award.

Nigerian trio of Wilfred Ndidi, Odion Ighalo, and Victor Osimhen will also be looking to battle out South Africa’s Percy Tau and Ghana’s Thomas Partey.

Thembi Kgatlana, reigning African women footballer of the year once more makes the cut and will be looking to see off competition from her closest rivals in Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala and Cameroon’s Ajara Nchout.
