2019 Election: Pres. Buhari and First Lady cast votes in Daura Katsina State

The 2019 Governorship and State Assembly election has finally commenced and the staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC across the states have started the electoral process with voters moving out to exercise their franchise.

According to a report, Nigerian Pres., Muhammadu Buhari and the country’s First Lady, Mrs. Aisha Buhari have cast their votes at the President’s hometown in Duara, Katsina State.

The report made it known that the First couple cast their votes at about 8 am.

Following the voting exercise, Pres. Muhammadu Buhari was approached by the member of the press, he addressed and fielded questions from journalists.

The President while responding to the statement that his victory at the Presidential poll on the 23rd of February is being challenged said he is not surprised about it.

Questions were also asked about possible violence during the Governorship and State Assembly election, President Muhammadu Buhari responded by saying he is leaving that to the country’s security agencies to tackle.

In another report, the election has commenced at various polling units centers in the country except for some units that are still yet to start.

Irrespective of this, Nigerian voters have been urged to move out in their numbers cast their votes for their respective candidates in the 2019 Governorship and State Assembly Election.

However, not all states in the country are observing the Governorship elections, states like Osun, Ekiti already had their own Governorship election last year.
