2019 Governorship Election: Niger State declares Friday Public Holiday

– The Niger State Government has declared Friday 8th of February a public holiday 

– This is to enable civil servants and workers in the state travel to their local governments to participate in the 2019 Governorship election

According to a latest report, the Niger State Government has officially declared Friday, 8th of February as a public holiday.

This is to enable civil servants and workers in the state travel to their respective Local Governments ahead of the 2019 Governorship and State Assembly Election which is slated to take place on the 9th of Feb.

The announcement was made by the state Governor, Abubakar Bello on Monday in the state capital, Minna.

Gov. Abubakar Bello used the medium to urge the civil servants and workers to use the break to travel to their polling units so as to exercise their civic duties.

A report made it known that the state Gov. also met with Labour union bodies in the state which include, Nigeria Labour Congress NLC, Trade Union Congress TUC, and the Nigerian Union of Teachers NUT.

In an earlier report, the Chairman of the NLC in Niger, Malam Idris Ndako, in a statement had pledged the support of civil servants toward the success of the re-election bid of Gov. Abubakar Bello.

Mallam Idris Ndako in his statement disclosed that Gov. Abubakar Bello’s led administration has improved the welfare of civil servants and workers in the state and deserved another term.

Gov. Abubakar Bello is running for a second term in office under the All Progressive Congress APC.

In another report, the Nigerian Police Force NPF in a statement released today has disclosed it readiness to take part in the 2019 Governorship and National Assembly Election which will take place this Saturday.
