3SC Feeder’s Team Player Arrested Over Involvement In Internet Related Offences

A club member of the feeder team of the famous Ibadan-based Shooting Stars Sports Club, also known as 3SC identified as Oginni Oluwaseyi Dayo, was on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 apprehended by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Ibadan zonal office, over alleged involvement in internet related offences.

Oginni Oluwaseyi Dayo was apprehended together with his brother-in-law identified as Alabi Okikiola, and his friend also identified as Jonas Okwuwe, at a location within the Fortune Estate, Ologuneru Olonde area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

It is important to note that their arrest came after a petition from a neighbour, who raised high suspicion on the reckless and flamboyant life the suspect lived, without any known reasonable source of livelihood.

When their report was received and also with strict investigation, operatives of the commission carried out an early morning operation which resulted in their arrest.

Further investigation also revealed that Oginni was a club member of the popular soccer team’s feeder team, 3SC, but an official made it clear that he has not been attending training for a long while.

In different statements with the EFC, Oginni stated that he is an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Part 1 student at the State-owned Polytechnic, Ibadan; Okwuwe also stated that he is a Computer Science graduate from the Auchi Polytechnic, while Oginni’s brother-in-law, Okikiola, also stated that he had a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, also from the Polytechnic Ibadan.

The list of items which were recovered from the suspects includes laptops, iPhones and phones of other brands.

Meanwhile, the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
