The Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Anjuguri Manza, who paraded them said that the suspects claimed to be playing out a script about the virus without the knowledge or authorization of the relevant authorities of the FCT.

As reported by Vanguard, the pranksters went to Wuse General Hospital claiming that one of them had been infected with the Coronavirus. This led to “panic and confusion as well as a disruption of normal health service delivery at the hospital.”

One of the pranksters, Peggy Shandi confirmed to the police that their action was just a prank.

Meanwhile, the FCT Police Command who are still investigating the case said the suspects would be charged to court.

This is coming after World Health Organization (WHO) listed 13 African countries including Nigeria as high risk countries for Coronavirus.
