Mahrez Gives Coronavirus Advice

Algeria International, Riyad Mahrez has given his take on the Coronavirus pandemic that has dealt a lot of havoc to a host of European countries and in fact round the globe.

The winger charges individuals to play by the rules set by health authorities in a bid to battle the further spread of the virus.

The pandemic which has dealt a lot of havoc across the world has crippled stock markets and the economies of a host of countries. It has also led to the suspension of several leagues across the world including the Premier League.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) in a bid to curb further spread of the virus encouraged individuals to self-isolate and wash their hands regularly using sanitizers. Some other measures asides these have also been put in place to contain the spread of the virus which has now claimed thousands of lives in many countries across the globe.

Mahrez took to social media to advise football enthusiasts on COVID-19.

“Important message: Listen to the health authorities and stay at home especially,” Mahrez tweeted.

“It is important to protect the weakest people from the risks of the virus, regardless of their age and their state of health, it is dangerous for everyone. Take care of yourself.”

The 29-year-old has been an influential part of Pep Guardiola’s team, scoring nine times and providing 14 assists across all competitions. This term,  he’s featured 37 times for the Citizens already.

Mahrez who steered his side to their second African Cup of Nations victory whilst wearing his team’s captain armband will hope to maintain his current form when the Premier League resumes.
