The Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari has written the Speaker House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila over the refusal of lawmakers to COVID-19 test on their arrival from foreign trips at the Airports.
While noting that the screening is the primary line of defense against the spread of the dreaded virus, Kyari in his letter said that the action of the lawmakers is a threat to the nation.
He, therefore, requested that Gbajabiamila direct al the lawmakers who traveled out of the country and returned to report themselves to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC)with immediate effect.
The COVID-19 virus has led to the death of one person and 36 positive cases with two discharged.
And the NCDC has said in a recent statement that it won’t reveal the identities of the indexes. This is coming from the heels of demand for the identities of the indexes.
Meanwhile, Kyari in the second week of March led a delegation to Germany where they spent days, and held talks with Siemens executives.
It remains unknown if any member of that delegation underwent the mandatory 14-day self-isolation regime upon their return to Abuja as well.
