Abiodun to Returnees: Don’t Rejoin APC Through Backdoor

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun has advised interested progressive politicians who had jumped ship to other parties to return to the All Progressives Congress through “the front door”.

While declaring that no one would be allowed to come into the ruling party through the back door, Abiodun noted that the only way into the party is through the front door.

He stated this while formal welcoming back and presenting party flags to the former deputy governor of the state, Alhaja Salmat Badru and the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC)  in the last general election, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka at the Ake Palace Ground, Ake, Abeokuta.

Governor Abiodun said that the new members are now part of a big family, noting that he does not want the new members to be discriminated against in party activities.

“This is politics. We all have our strengths; we all have a role to play. If anybody intends to join us, we know what to do. Nobody can come through the back door. Anyone that wants to join us must come through the front door”, he said.

“We have accepted them all. They are now part of us. I don’t want discrimination that one just came, while others have been here before them. No new member again. We are now one. We are joining hands to build the future of our state together,” he said.

While stating that the process of appointing political office holders in the state is continuous, he assured every member of the party a sense of belonging.

“We know you are coming. Be rest assured, we still have so many political appointments to do. We will ensure everyone has a sense of belonging and participation. So please, do not worry. We are now one and in the same family,” he said.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman, All Progressives Congress, Ogun State, Chief Yemi Sanusi described the occasion as a thing of joy to have Isiaka and Badru and other big wigs into the ruling party in the state.
