Nigerian Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo in a recent statement has reacted to the Abuja Police Raid on women that has led to the infringement of rights of women, which has turned out to be one of the challenges going on lately in the country.

The Vice President in the statement released by his Senior Special Aide on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande said a thorough investigation of what happened is currently going on.

He added the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration will not tolerate any violation of the freedom of people, he added that all infringements will be punished.

Laolu Akande in a tweet via his Twitter handle wrote, “regarding some of our women who were reportedly harassed and wrongly arrested in Abuja recently, a thorough investigation of what happened is ongoing. This administration will not tolerate any violation of the individual freedoms of our people and all infringements shall be punished.”

The Abuja Police raid on women has been trending for the past few days after security agencies allegedly arrested some females at club houses in the country’s capital.

Nigerians have taken to various media such as Twitter to react to the Abuja Police raid on women, there were report of marches against the raid as well at Abuja.
