Agbaje Sanwo-Olu and Sanni celebrates Nigerian workers

Today, May 1st popularly referred to as workers day in Nigeria is a day to celebrate workers in Nigeria and it comes with a holiday

The Federal Government in an announcement earlier this week had declared May 1st a Public HolIday, which means workers in the country are freed from official duties.

In a recent statement, the Lagos state Peoples Democratic Party PDP Governorship candidate, Jimi Agabje has celebrated Nigeiran workers.

Agbaje in his statement describe labour as the wheel that keeps industry and enterprise going.

He said, “Labour is the wheel that keeps industry and enterprise going. As an employer of labour I know the contributions of the human resource to the growth and sustenance of business. I celebrate all workers who keep the wheels of our economy going. Happy Workers Day”
In a similar statement, Sen. Shehu Sanni of Kdauna central district called on Nigeria Labour Congress NLC and the Aviation Workers to devise ways of imposing ‘no fly’ sanctions for employers that deliberately refused to pay the new N30,000.
Shehu Sanni said, “a revolutionary salute to the Nigerian Worker on workers day. The NLC & the Aviation workers must devise ways of imposing ‘no fly’ sanctions for any Governor or Industrialist or CEOs who deliberately refused to implement the 30k Minimum wage.”
Also, the Lagos State Governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu in his statement applauded the workers in the state for their resilience and ingenuity.
He said, ”’ Today, I celebrate the resilience and ingenuity of every worker in Lagos contributing your quota to ensure things work. You are the wheel that keeps our state and economy running.
There is dignity in Labour. Be proud all you do because it is not in vain. Happy Workers day.”
