Prominent Igbo Leader and former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. Olisa Agbakoba (SAN) has rejected calls for restructuring in the governance of the nation calling them shambles. Rather, he pitched his tent with the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu who has repeatedly clamoured for a breakaway state of Biafra. Mr Agbakoba described the calls for restructuring as ploys by the political elites to grab power in 2019.
In a shocking disclosure, the popular thought leader lent his voice to the recent calls for secession being championed by the leader of the IPOB. In recent months, Nnamdi Kanu’s calls for the breakaway of Biafra which is dominated by Southeast states has been a topic of hot discussion in most places. Furthermore, the recent quit notice issued by a group of northern youths has added more fire to the recent cause of Nnamdi Kanu.
