Aisha Buhari commiserates with families of victims of collapsed building at Ita Faaji Lagos Island

– Mrs. Aisha Buhari has commiserated the Families of the victims involved in the collapsed building at Ita Faaji Lagos Island

– The Lagos State Government also confirmed that 20 people lost their lives in the incident

Nigerian First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari has reacted to the tragic incident which took place at Ita Faaji Lagos Island on Wednesday.

The tragic incident saw three-storeyed building, which housed a school collapsed with people trapped in in it.

Mrs. Aisha Buhari in a statement commiserated with the families of the victims involved in the incident.

She sent prayers to the family of those who lost their lives in the incident.

The First Lady in a statement via her Twitter handily wrote, ‘‘My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims, especially innocent children who died and some who are still trapped in the rubble of the collapsed building in Itafaji, Lagos.

‘‘I pray the state government and the rescue agencies are able to save more children.”

In another report, the Lagos State Government has confirmed that 20 people lost their lives in the incident which took place at number 10, Dogara Street, Ita Faaji, Lagos Island.

The report made it known that the building housed a private Nursery School, Baden School, residents and shops on the floor of the structure.

According to the Lagos State Government of the 20 People that lost their lives, 16 were school pupils while the remaining four were adults.

The collapsed building has been trending massively since Wednesday when it occurred and there have been questions about construction of buildings in the country.

The likes of Sen. Shehu Sanni, The All Progressive Congress APC, Senate Pres., Bukola Saraki have all reacted to the news of the collapsed building.
