–  Mrs. Aisha Buhari has denied claims that she issued any statement condemning the suspension of the CJN Walter Onnoghen

– She declared that the report was false

Nigeria’s first lady, Aisha Buhari in a recent statement made public via her Director of Information, Mr. Suleiman Haruna has denied report that she released a statement condemning the suspension of the Chief Judge of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen.

She made this known at Abuja today, where she claimed she had heard news making round that she condemned the suspension.

Mrs. Buhari in her statement declared the news as fake, she stressed that she has not released any statement about the suspension of the Justice Walter Onnoghen.

The report hinted that the attention of wife of President Buhari, Aisha Buhari has been drawn to a post on the social media which claimed that she condemned the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria.

Below is a statement as released by Aisha Buhari via her Director of Information, Mr. Suleiman Haruna,
The statement read,

It is important to inform Nigerians that wife of the President has not made any public statements on the matter and therefore the commentary is untrue and fake.

“This is highly condemnable and we therefore advise the purveyors of such news to recant and desist henceforth.”

Justice Walter Onnoghen was suspended by President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday afternoon as the Chief Judge of Nigeria, in his place the President appointed Justice Mohammed Tanko as the acting CJN.

The President after announcing the suspension disclosed that he did so based on an order from the Code of Conduct Tribunal CCT.

According to the report, the suspension is to help the CJN focus on his trial with the CCT which is based on nondisclosure of assets.
