Alexander-Arnold Sets Eye On Another Champions League Final To Round Up Perfect 2020

Liverpool right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold is eyeing a third successive Champions League final for Liverpool after the Reds made it to the finals in the years 2017 and 2018.

The full-back contrary to what most people think isn’t only eyeing a Premier League title but insists that two other titles including the Champions Lesgue trophy are up for grabs.

Alexander-Arnold stresses that the Merseyside club are looking to win as many trophies as possible, as he personally sets his eyes on Champions League success once again.

Liverpool picked up a spectacular treble last term, bagging the Champions League trophy, UEFA Super Cup and World Club Cup.

The Merseyside club under the tutelage of Jurgen Klopp are now set to lift the Premier League crown, a title that had eluded them for the last 25 years. The Reds have opened a 13-point gap at the summit of the standings.

More interestingly is that fact that they have a game in hand over second-placed Leicester City and reigning champions, Manchester City. Klopp’s men have also secured a spot in the fourth round of the FA Cup. They have also made way to the round-of-16 once again with their game against Spanish giants, Atletico Madrid scheduled for February.

Alexander-Arnold is eager to see the Merseysode outfit replicate their last year success while also maintaining their Premier League form through to May.

“Keeping up the momentum we’ve got and trying to replicate 2019 as much as possible because, if we do that, I think more trophies will come,” the English man told the club’s official matchday programme when asked about his goals for 2020.

“With the position we are in in the Premier League, if we can replicate what we did in the first half of the season then we will be in a solid position come May.

“Hopefully we can get to another Champions League final too, but we’ve got a difficult draw. Atletico Madrid are a stubborn team, one that’s hard to break down, and a passionate team with a passionate manager. It’ll be interesting to see the two managers on the touchline and see who is more passionate!

“We enjoyed the Champions League last year because we had such a tough run. Every game we had to get to the final was against a different type of opponent after a really tough group.

“We had a tough group this year and a tough round of 16 opponent again, but we like to be tested as a team because it brings the best out of us. If you want to be the best you have to beat the best, so for us it’s about testing ourselves as much as possible.

“Hopefully we’ll be able to go back to Istanbul again, which would be massive for the club, but to have a perfect 2020 we need to win as many trophies as possible.”
