Aliko Dangote Gains $5.8Billion Within 24 Hours To Become 64th Richest Individual In The World

Billionaire businessman, Aliko Dangote recorded $5.8 billion profit in one day to become the 64th richest person in the world with a worth of $16.6 billion according to a recent report by Bloomberg.

Bloomberg Billionaires Index, a ranking of world’s 500 richest people revealed that Africa’s richest man grew to $10.8 billion on Monday, February 25.

Recall that the Billionaires Index also showed that his wealth fell form from $10.5 billion at the end of last year to $9.63 billion Naira on the 1st of January, 2019.

Aliko Dangote’s wealth at the moment has skyrocketed by 23% increase from $13.5 billion on the 26th of February to $16.6 billion just within 24 hours.

Aliko Dangote has seen his wealth move by 58 percent to rank as one of the greatest movers on the list this year only second to Andrew Forrest, founder and largest shareholder of Fortescue Metals Group.

Dangote remains the only Nigerian on that list with some other Africans finding a bit of space in the last hundreds of the top 500.

Nicky Oppenheimer of South Africa came next in at 216 with a net worth of $7.05 billion with Johann Rupert of South Africa, Nassei Sawiris of Egypt, Natie Kirsh of South Africa and Naguib Sawiris of Egypt completing the list of Africans in the top 500.

According to Bloomberg, the figures are updated every business day at the close of every working or trading day in New York.

Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon maintains his place as the richest man in the world with an estimated net worth of $136 billion while Bill Gates and Warren Buffet come in at second and third place respectively.

Aliko Dangote has also been named the sixth most charitable person in the world according to a digital periodical that covers economics, business and financial news, Richtopia.
