Alleged Fraud: Mompha Sues EFCC, Demands N5m

Ismaila Mustapha aka Mompha who was arrested last month by EFCC over alleged fraud is suing them over his continued detention.

Mompha was arrested on Friday 18, October 2019 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on his way to Dubai Emirate and has been in detention since October 22.

According to EFCC’s official statement, he  “volunteered useful information to the operatives and has admitted to be reasonably involved in the first two cases he was alleged to be involved.”

However, the new update on the case reveals that Mompha is filing a suit against EFCC for gross violation of his right for keeping him in detention after the Lagos Magistrate Court order expired since November 4.

He also demands N5m for damages and his immediate release from the custody.
