APC Planning to Arrest PDP Leaders Ahead of Saturday’s Poll, Dino Melaye Alleges

  • Melaye alleges plan to arrest PDP leaders before Saturday election.
  • Calls on IG to cuttle the alleged plan of the arrest.

A candidate in the rerun Kogi West Senatorial District election, Senator Dino Melaye, has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is planning to use security agencies to arrest members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP (PDP), ahead of Saturday’s governorship and senatorial elections in the state.

According to Melaye, APC leaders met last night across all local governments in Kogi West and came up with a resolution to arrest PDP leaders in the area.

“APC leadership meeting held across all Local Government in Kogi West tonight. Resolution is to arrest PPD leaders across the West Senatorial District as it is obvious that they cannot win. He, therefore, urged the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Adamau Muhamad not to allow the alleged plan to happen via his Twitter page.

“The IG, DSS, and Army should not allow their institutions to be used to perpetrate crime.

“We will resist with every force available of any illegal arrest of PDP members. Taofik Isah and Co we know more than you think…. Waiting…,” Melaye tweeted.

It could be recalled that the appeal court had ordered a re-run between Smart Adeyemi of the APC and Melaye of the PDP over irregularities during the Senatorial election. See Melaye’s series of tweets below.
