APC Says 2020 Ondo Elections Is An Easy Win

The Ondo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have suggested that the 2020 Governorship elections would be a walk over for the party seeing that the government of the ruling party have performed well in the last two and half years.

This declaration came just within 24 hours after Mr. Eyitayo Jegede, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party declared his intentions of recontesting against Governor Akeredolu.

Mr. Alex Kalejaiye, the state Publicity Secretary of the APC in a statement revealed that the people of the State were highly pleased with the APC-led administration.

He stressed that in contrast to growing rumours, the party isn’t divided or growing weak and that Governor Akeredolu was upholding a government that is sensitive and indeed responsive to the needs of the people.

Accoridng to Mr. Kalejaiye, the ruling party is waxing stronger each passing day and it would be an uphill task for the opposition to overthrow the government in the forthcoming elections.

The statement released by Mr. Kalejaiye read in part, “The state executive is not factionalised nor disenchanted with a government that has made the party proud, and created an atmosphere of confidence and trust between government and the governed.

“The State Working Committee, for example, is deeply preoccupied with its continuous duty of ensuring, and sustaining oneness and unity of members without prejudice. The SWC has no regard for camps or groups.

“The APC-led government has never slacked in the construction of quality roads, provision of potable water, massive investment in agriculture and the health sector, and creation of industrial hubs in the state.

It added:

“It is germane to state emphatically that no serious-minded government, that is determined to make indelible marks, can jettison the above activities for weekly empowerment’’.

“APC appreciated the untainted efforts and sacrifices of leaders that are forward-looking on matters of concern to the State chapter.”
