APC Suspends Governor Amosun And Okorocha For Anti-Party Activities

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended governors which includes Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state and Rochas Okorocha of Imo state respectively.

The suspension of the governor Amosun and Okorocha was confirmed to reporters earlier today by a top party official in APC, even as the NWC was still in session.

The likes of  Osita Okechukwu identified as the director-general of the Voice of Nigeria and Pastor Usani Usani identified as the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs were also suspended.

An APC source close to us stated that the NWC also decided to query Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo, where the party lost two senatorial seats and the presidential election to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party in the 23 February election.

It should, however, be noted that all the sanctioned party members were indicted for anti-party activities in the run-up to the February 23 Presidential and National Assembly elections, as gathered by sources.

The National Working Committee which is presently in a meeting also recommended the suspension of Okorocha and Amosun from the party.

Both Governors Amosun and Okorocha won Senate seats in the National Assembly election in their states as members of the APC.

Meanwhile, both governor Amosun and Okorocha are supporting governorship and assembly candidates against the APC.

From reports gathered so far, it is seen that in Ogun state, Governor Amosun is backing AbdulKadir Akinlade as the governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement(APM) against the APC candidate identified as Prince Dapo Abiodun.

Also, in Imo state, Governor Okorocha is supporting his son-in-law identified as Uche Nwosu as the candidate of the Action Alliance, against Senator Hope Uzodinma, the APC candidate.
