APC Women Group Commences 21 Days Fasting, Prayer for Buhari’s Second Term

The Women Aspirants Forum of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced a-21-day fasting and prayer ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’ second term in office.

Speaking to newsmen in Abuja, National Leader of the forum, Adedoyin Eshanumi said that the fasting and prayer was to facilitate the removal of any obstacle that could hinder the President’s second term inauguration which comes up on May 29 in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The forum involves the gathering of all female political aspirants who contested different elective positions on the platform of the APC either during the primaries or the general election but failed to scale through.

According to her, it was to also make God grant President Buhari the good health, strength, and wisdom needed to lead the country to the next level.

While noting that the task ahead is a difficult one, Eshanumi pointed that the President has taken the bold step toward freeing this country of corruption.

Eshanumi who restated the commitment of the women to always put the president in prayers in the quest for a Nigeria of his dream urged president Buhari to implement his promise of making women be a larger portion of his administration when he is sworn in for a second term.

“Elections have come and gone and we are moving forward. We are holding Mr President to his words after he promised us at the banquet hall that he will ensure that a larger per cent of women work with him in his second term,” Eshanumi said.

She also called on women irrespective of their party affiliations to join in the fasting and prayer for God to grant the President the wisdom to lead.

On her part, Ann Agom-Eze, a senatorial aspirant in Ebonyi South urged the Buhari to ensure that women got at least 35 percent of appointments in his second term.

Agom-Ever, who noted that by so doing, Buhari would make women relevant in the pursuit of a better Nigeria.
