Are We Running A Parallel Court?, Angry Justice Lambastes DSS for Not Releasing Sowore And Bakare

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Department of State Service (DSS) to release publisher of SaharaReporters, Omoyele Sowore and his co-defendant, Olawale Bakare, within the next 24 hours.

The angry Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu wondered why the Service wants to see their sureties in person asking: DSS Lawyer: “Who gave that order? Are we running a parallel court? Didn’t I verify his sureties?

The case has been adjourned for 24 hours for DSS to comply with Court Order.

Recall that Justice Ojukwu had given the order and awarded a N100, 000 fine against the DSS over its delay to serve the defense counsel with the additional proof of evidence in the ongoing trial.

The judge, therefore, adjourned the trial at the instance of the DSS, said the fine must be paid to the defendants before the next adjourned date.

More to come.
