Team News

Arsenal

The Gunners are on a 18-match unbeaten streak across all competitions will play two difficult matches in the space of three days at the beginning of December, starting with the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

Should Arsenal win at the Emirates on Sunday they would draw level on points with their neighbours and leapfrog them on goal difference, but they are coming up against a Spurs side in good form themselves.

They have adjusted well under Unai Emery and sit just one point off the Champions League places with a third of the season gone ahead of a double-header against Spurs and Manchester United.

Its a long injury list as Nacho Monreal, Konstantinos Mavropanos,  Danny Welbeck, Alexandre Lacazette and Laurent Koscielny are all out due to injury.

Konstantinos Mavropanos and Nacho Monreal are both expected back later in December but this match will come too soon for them, and Sokratis Papastathopoulos is the most likely candidate to start alongside Shkodran Mustafi given that Rob Holding played in the Europa League in midweek.

Arsenal possible starting eleven:

Leno; Bellerin, Mustafi, Sokratis, Kolasinac; Torreira, Xhaka; Iwobi, Ozil, Aubameyang; Lacazette

Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs will be looking to make it back-to-back derby victories in the Premier League when they take on North London rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Pochettino’s side masterminded a brilliant 3-1 win over London rivals Chelsea last weekend and backed that up by beating Inter Milan to keep their Champions League hopes alive in midweek.

Should they defeat Arsenal, it will make it seven wins in a row across all competitions and that would be fantastic because they will unwittingly open up a seven point gap from their position.

Mousa Dembele, Davinson Sanchez (hamstring), Victor Wanyama (knee), Vincent Jansen and a few others are out to injury. But they also have other like Christian Eriksen,  Danny Rose, Delle Alli who are fit and will likely feature.

Tottenham possible starting eleven:

Lloris; Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies; Sissoko, Dier; Son, Alli, Eriksen; Kane

Head to head

Arsenal have a formidable record at home to their neighbours, losing just once in 25 top-flight meetings on their own patch stretching back to 1993, with Tottenham’s solitary success coming in 2010.
