ASUU Resumes Indefinite Strike In Taraba State University

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Taraba State University chapter, on Wednesday, 3rd of April began an indefinite strike.

A statement which was released from the ASUU chairman in the Taraba State University identified as Dr Samuel Shikaa, stated that the aggrieved lecturers had embarked on a strike action in 2018 but suspended it when the Taraba government promised to meet its demands which included the payment of earned academic allowances from 2014 till date (2019), and the provision of required infrastructure to make teaching and learning easier in the University.

Dr Samuel Shikaa also made it clear that the state government is yet to fulfil their promises hence they are going on strike immediately.

Recall that the Federal Government promised ASUU members better lifestyle when the latter embarked on an indefinite strike last year November and which lasted up till February.
