– The PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the just concluded election, claims that the INEC server shows that he defeated Buhari by 1.6 million votes.
– He also filed a petition to question the votes of Buhari, as well as his educational credentials.
Atiku Abubakar, on Monday, submitted a petition before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja, according to reports.
He claimed that he won the just concluded February 23 election, instead of Buhari. And if we can recall, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC declared Buhari as the winner with over 3 million votes.
Atiku claims that according to the data from the INEC server, the correct data from state to state computation shows that he emerged victorious with over 1.6 million votes. He said that this clearly nullifies the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari which claimed to have won him with a margin of 3, 928, 869 votes, according to reports from the Punch.
This is according to the 139-pages long petition, which relies heavily on 50 legal documents that was filed against Buhari and the Action Peoples Congress, APC, as well as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The petition claims to have had no report from Rivers state. It also claims that the president is not qualified for contesting for the office of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. As he doesn’t have the minimum qualifications for the position, which was a secondary school leaving certificate.
The petition also mentioned that the educational qualifications, which includes Elementary and College education submitted by the president were all fake. It also detains that the president was re-elected by means of corruption. As well as several other claims.
The petitioners which includes over 38 lawyers, amidst Senior Advocates of Nigeria, is spear-headed by Mr Livy Uzoukwu (San). They have asked that the tribunal should determine if Buhari’s election was free and fair. And Atiku should be duly elected as the president.
