Atletico Madrid Ready To Increase Partey Release Clause

Atletico Madrid is looking to increase the release clause of their midfielder, Thomas Partey to £93m amidst interest from English heavyweights in Manchester United and Arsenal.

The Wanda Metropolitano folks are considering extending his contract beyond the summer of 2023 when his current contract is supposed to end.

Within that supposed agreement is a £47m asking price that can be triggered at any transfer window and by any club.

Atletico Madrid think top European sides won’t mind parting away with such figures if the Ghanaian at any time shows up on their recruitment list.

The defensive-minded midfielder has been recently linked to Manchester United and Arsenal.

With the Premier Leagues reportedly weighing up a move for the Ghanaian, the Laliga giants are ready to make a decisive action.

According to a report by Goal, fresh terms are now being arranged for the 26-year-old. The details of his current contract are thought to be outdated and not in correlation with his recent performances on the pitch of play.

The Laliga giants do not believe that his €50m price tag works well for a player of his stature and potentials.

The management and staff at the Wanda Metropolitano are reportedly happy with Partey and remain confident that he would put pen to paper and sign a new contract.

They are confident that they can convince the Ghanaian to stay in spite of growing interests from other top European sides.

According to the report, his take-home will also be increased to about €4.5m per annum. His contract should be extended by two years such that the player is tied to Atletico till the summer of 2025.
