Atletico Madrid Send Barcelona Packing Out Of The Spanish Copa

It was a gruelling game between two Spanish giants, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid as they battled for supremacy and a date with Real Madrid in the finals of the Supercopa. It was so intense that even the omnipresent Lionel Messi couldn’t sway the game in favour of the Blaugranas.

In fact, Diego Simeone’s Madrid came from behind to record an emphatic win over the hosts at the Camp Nou.

After a goalless first forty-five minutes, both charges came out lit and firing on all cylinders. The half was highlighted by a number of cards and two disallowed goals.

Madrid midfielder, Koke scored only few minutes after his introduction. However, goals from Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann put the Blaugranas in charge of the proceedings at the Camp Nou.

Messi must have thought he had had his second of the night but VAR intervention delayed the party. Griezmann then later headed the ball home following a rebound from Luis Suarez to put Barcelona on top.

Barca fot another goal disallowed after Vidal was adjudged to be offside. Before long, Neta fouled Vitolo to gift the visitors a penalty. Alvarez Morata wasted no time in converting the goal.

Correa then made it 3-2 only few minutes before the final whistle.
