Aubameyang Reveals Secret Behind Golden Boot Success

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has said that his secret of winning the Premier League golden boot this season is being ready for the physicality of the Premier League itself.

The Arsenal forward notched a total of 22 goals, joint-top with the pair of Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane.

He attests to the fact that he is adjusting to the life in England’s top flight and can even be better next campaign.

The Gabonese has netted an impressive 31 goals in 50 games for Arsenal across all competitions with seven of them coming in his last four games, a form he’s looking to maintain and grow into his side’s final with Chelsea in Baku.

When quizzed if it was a shock playing in the Premier League after arriving from Germany, the former Dortmund forward said:

“It is always a tough battle when you play a game here in England and you have to be ready physically. That was the most important change when I came here from Germany.

“It took a little bit of time to settle. I had six months (last season) to adjust me to this league. I think I did well in the first six months and now I have had the whole season. I am happy with that. Hopefully I will do better next season.

“Now you can say the Premier League is the best in the world because four clubs are in the finals and as we saw this season, Liverpool and Manchester City played the last game for the title.

“So that’s why I came here, for that. The Golden Boot means a lot. I am really happy and proud of it.”

Though Aubameyang had shared the award with Liverpool duo and African counterparts, Mane and Salah, he achieved same goal tally in fewer minutes.

The 29 year old doesn’t rate this as one of his best season and really feels he could improve on his season’s achievement.
