Laliga leaders, Barcelona have set a €20m price tag on Croatia International, Ivan Rakitic as they wait for his former side, Sevilla to make a swoop for him.
The Catalans welcome interest from former Rakitic’s side who desire to see him make a return to the club.
The Croatian’s contract is set to expire in the summer of 2021 but the midfielder has quickly fallen down the pecking order in the last year.
Indeed, he’s seen only 15 starts in each of his 31 appearances this season and is yet to score a goal in any of those appearances.
The playmaker is infact now behind Frenkie de Jong, Sergio Busquets, Arthur and Arturo Vidal in the middle of the park and no longer features for the Spanish giant’s first team.
Rakitic has made immense contributions to the club since his £16m move from Sevilla, helping Barcelona to four Laliga titles and a Champions League trophy.
However, it appears at this point that his time at the Nou Camp might be nearing the end. According to a report by Goal he would be let off the hook if the Blaugranas valuation of €20m is met.
A barrage of top European sides have shown their interest in the playmaker, with Manchester United and Inter Milan the most linked sides. Italian giants, Juventus in fact had their January move for the midfielder thrown out the window.
Should he decide to go elsewhere this summer, it is understood he would favour a move to his former side amidst interests from other top sides.
Sevilla are said to be weighing up a formal move for Rakitic, who according to reports is willing to take a pay cut to make his switch to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium a reality.
