Early life of Adanna David
Adanna David was born March 2, 1988. She’s of Nigerian descent, precisely from Imo state. She’s a twin and one of the five children of Igbo businessman, politician and former governor of Imo state, Ikedi Ohakim and barrister Chioma Ohakim. She had her secondary school education in Nigeria before going ahead to obtain a BSc in Biomedicine from the University of East Anglia in the UK in 2010, and medical degrees (MB, Bch, BAO, LRCP and SI) from The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in 2015. In 2018, she earned a Certificate of Entrepreneurship from Harvard Business.

In October 2017, Adanna founded Medics Abroad, an international organisation providing logistics for clinical placements in Africa to medics around the world. The organization also focus on ‘redefining medical educational travel’ for students and Doctors in the healthcare profession, by creating unique all-inclusive career altering work experience and humanitarian opportunities in Africa. Medics Abroad currently offers on-site rotations in Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda and South Africa, with plans to expand across the entire continent.
Aside from being a YouTuber, Adanna is also an instagram influencer. Together with her husband, she runs the YouTube channel “The Adanna David Family” and a Instagram account. Combined, their channels have attracted over 580,000 subscribers. The couple, known as AdannaDavid, first gained international recognition when a 15-second Instagram video of them dancing to African music in their kitchen went viral in 2014.

In 2012, while studying for her degree, she met German native David Steinacker, a fellow student. They got married in 2013. They had their Igbo traditional wedding in December, a German court wedding in March 2014 and a church ceremony in Dublin, Ireland, in July 2014. Videos of their wedding went viral and have amassed over 2.2 million views. They have two sons, Kian and Noah.
