Boko Haram: Old Age Disturbing Obasanjo – Lawmaker

A House of Representatives member from Jigawa state. Magaji Da’u Aliyu has described former president Olusegun’s Obasanjo statement on the security situation 8in the country as shameful.

The lawmaker pointed Obasanjo, who is he said mischievously change the narrative about the security situation in the country appeared to be suffering from old age.

“It’s shameful for such statement to come from Obasanjo. He was president under both military and civilian governments in this country. He has a lot of privileged information.

“If what he said is privileged information, let him say it. But I think it’s old age that’s disturbing him. If not old age, I don’t think he should ‎say such a thing.

The lawmaker representing Birnin-Kudu/Buji Constituency reminded the president that the victims that suffered attack most in the hands of the Boko Haram insurgents and the ISWAP are Muslims, urging not to allow his political difference make him to make all manner of statements.

“If you look at it, the victims of insurgency are Muslims, and even Fulanis. Before you hear of anybody else being killed, so many Muslims are killed.

“We pray God almighty brings an end to this. But he shouldn’t allow his political difference with the president to make him make all manner of statements,” he said.”
