1. Dangote’s Worth Drops to $10.3Bn from $25Bn

Africa’s Richest Billionaire, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, may have lost more than half of his wealth between 2015 and 2019.

According to the latest ranking by Forbes, Dangote’s estimated net worth dropped by $2.1bn from 2018.

In 2015, Dangote was reported to have had a net worth of $25bn, but three years after, it crashed to $10.3Bn, crashing by about $15bn. In 2015, 2018 and 2019, Dangote’s estimated worth was $25Bn, $12.4Bn and $10.3Bn respectively.

It should be noted that Nigeria, was reported to have overtaken India as the world poverty capital in 2018.

2. Tinubu Slumped, Now in Hospital – FFK

Former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode in his tweet on Thursday announced that bad things always happen to Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the APC each time he receives any important role from the APC government.

According to FFK, “Last year on the day that Bola Tinubu was appointed Chairman of the APC Reconciliation Commitee,he lost his son. 3 days ago, on the day that he was appointed Chairman of Buhari’s Campaign Council, he slumped, collapsed and was rushed to the hospital where he remains till today.”

3. Amaechi Reacts to Leaked Recording, Says He Has No Time

Minister of Transportation, Mr. Chibuike Amaechi believes a blackmailer was behind a recently leaked recording where he was heard portraying his principal, the President in bad light.

According to him, the blackmailer has been blackmailing him to pay for the recording or else he was ready to quote him out of context and make everyone discredit his loyalty to the President.

According to a reported close source to the minister, the issue where Amaechi was heard saying the President doesn’t read was where the Minister was trying to stress the fact that the President is focused on building infrastructures and does not care about all the negative things people write to distract him from his mandate.

He said the real context was, “And come to think of it, the President does not have all the time to read the entire write up by journalists that is why he has a media aide. Our President is not an ordinary citizen.” Read More

4. Bribe-Collecting Ganduje Vows to Investigate Fund-Diverting Kwankwaso

Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has announced that he would investigate his predecessor, Rabi’u MusaKwankwaso who he said diverted money meant for state road project to fund his 2015 presidential campaign.

Ganduje, who was a former deputy governor to Kwankwaso, said, “I was the deputy governor when the project was conceived. 90% of the total sum of the contract was provided by the 44 local governments while the remaining 10% was provided by the state government”.

He continued, “However, Kwankwaso collected the 90% from the 44 local governments, paid the mobilisation fee and funded his presidential campaign with the remaining balance. The Kwankwasiyya people have started campaigning with the 5km road project, but I will expose them.”

5. Nigeria, India to Sign Bilateral Air Agreement

Nigeria and India have proposed to sign a Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) before the end of January.

This will make direct flights to and fro Nigeria and India possible.

The Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Abhay announced this to newsmen at an event to commemorate the World Hindi Day and Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Abuja Wednesday night.

According to him, the agreement will be signed on the next visit of Nigeria’s Aviation Minister State, Hadi Sirika to India.

6. I’m Sure of Winning – Buhari

The APC Presidential Candidate, President Buhari has announced that he is sure he would win the February, 16 presidential elections.

He spoke during the inaugural meeting of the APC Presidential Campaign Council which was attended by the National Chairman of the APC, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, and the Minister of Transportation and Director-General of the council, among others.

7. Fans Slam Singer Orezi for Burning Naira Note

Nigerian singer, Orezi, real name Esegine Allen on Thursday, posted a photo of himself on instagarm,burning a one thousand Naira note but this didn’t go down well with his fans.

It was later reported that Orezi shared the photo as artwork to promote his new single.

Just as some fans were not very pleased with the creativity, some others applauded his creativity while some said it was photosop.

8. A Senior Army Officer Killed in Battle for Baga

A senior army officer engaged in Operation Lafiya Dole has been killed by the Islamic State of West Africa Province, ISWAP, affiliate of Boko Haram in the battle to retake Baga town.

According to the Army Spokesman, Brigadier General Sani Usman, the officer was killed during a clearance operations carried out by Nigerian troops on Thursday.

Also, one soldier was killed and five others wounded during the raid to clear Zare, Gudumbali, Kukawa areas of Borno state.

9. Pastor Promises Girl N50,000, Impregnates Her

A Mr. Josiah Akinsuyi, pastor of Christ Apostolic Church, CAC, in Akure, Ondo State has been reported to have enticed a 16 year old minor with a promise of N50,000 which made her dump her boyfriend.

According to reports, he never gave her the money but rather impregnated her.

It was also learnt that the pastor, at one time, slept with the girl in a classroom of a private school owned by his wife.

10. One Confirmed Dead in Lagos Train Accident

Reports say hundreds of passengers escaped death when a shuttle train derailed at the Ashade railway crossing on the Agege-Ikeja axis of Lagos.

The incident happened at about 7:15am, leaving some passengers injured.

The Nigerian Railway Corporation has confirmed that one person died in the early morning train incident.
