1. Dangote, Otedola, Tinubu, Others Named as APC Campaign Advisers

Africas richest man, Aliko Dangote, among others have been named as members of a special advisory committee on Friday to take part in the campaign for the re-election of President Buhari.

The business mogul was named with six others to form the special advisory committee to Mr. President.Other members of the committee are, Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Ahmed Lawan (Senate Leader), Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila ( Leader of the House ), APC Party National Chairman Comrade Adams Oshiomole, and Oil Magnate, Mr. Femi Otedola.

2. My Residence Invaded and Occupied By Police – Melaye

The Nigerian Police has on Friday invaded the Abuja residence of Senator Dino Melaye of Kogi-West Constituency.

Following Dino’s public complaint that there were plans by the IG to arrest and inject him to death.

However, barely four days after this allegation, the embattled Senator has in a series of tweet said that his home at 11 Sangha Street, off Mississippi, Maitama had been invaded and occupied by the police.

3. Badeh’s Family Disproves Report on Cause of Death

Family of murdered former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Vice Marshal, Alex Badeh, has disproved the confessions of the suspects said to be his alleged killers that they killed him to seize the huge sums of money he had in his car.

Disproving the cause of death, the family said the claim by the suspects was a “cook-up story to deceive the public and hide the killers and their intentions.”

This came as the Police failed to parade five suspects of the December 18 killing of Badeh to Journalists as it announced.

4. 300 Level Student of ABU Commits Suicide over No Parental Love

A 300 level student of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, ABU Aisha Omolola, has committed suicide by drinking insecticide on December 26.

She left behind a suicide that blamed her parents for her action, saying they made life a living hell for her.

It was reported that Aisha who requested to be buried immediately her corpse was found left behind her ATM card and pin, as well as her phone password.

5. Oil Price Crash May Force Review of 2019 Budget Benchmark

Following the drop in the international oil price, the Federal Government may have started reviewing the global oil market with view to adopting a new oil price benchmark for the 2019 budget.

This came as the decline appeared to have reached an all time low of $59p/b seven weeks ago. It however, increased marginally to $61 as at yesterday

The N8.6 trillion budget was based on $60 per barrel (p/b) benchmark at a time international oil price was around $75p/b.

6. Davido Gives Male Fan N1M for Protecting the Ladies from Harassment at His Concert

Davido has just been reported to have given a male fan N1M for protecting the ladies from harassment at his Infinix Davido Live in Concert which held at Eko Atlantic, Lagos.

It was also reported that a lot of ladies were harassed and also sexually assaulted at the concert.

7. UN Speaks on New Boko Haram Attacks in the North-East

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) says attacks has escalated by suspected Boko Haram terrorists who are triggering new displacements in the northeast especially Borno State.

According to reports, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, officially registered over 2,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in 24 hours.

The latest influx, which started in late November, has brought additional pressure on already stretched facilities in the camp, OCHA had reported.

8. Man Stones 7 Months Pregnant Wife to Death on Christmas day

A middle aged man, Amos Ogbo is cooling off his heels in police detention over the killing of his 7months pregnant wife on Christmas day.

The incident happened at Eliozu, Obio-Akpor LGA of Rivers State.

The woman, according to eyewitness accounts, died of internal bleeding after her husband, Ogbo threw a stone on her ribs when she tried to escape from a fight with him.

The eyewitness said Ogbo, who was under the influence of alcohol.

9. INEC: Politicians Desperate to Buy PVCs

INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) , Oyo State, Mutiu Agboke, has made a shocking revelation yesterday while addressing reporters on the preparations of INEC for next year’s election.

According to him, politicians are making desperate efforts to buy Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) from officials of the commission.

Other fans joined in slamming him further.

10. Shehu Shagari is Dead

Nigerian’s Second Republic President, Alhaji Shehu Usman Aliyu Shagari, GCFR, is dead.

He was said to have died at the National Hospital Abuja on Friday after a brief illness. He died at the age of 93.

His demise was announced on twitter by his grandson, Bello Shagari.
