1. Runtown Wins in Legal Battle with Eric Many

Federal High Court Abuja on Friday 23rd January issued a restraining order against Eric Many, Runtown’s former record label.

Eric Many had earlier obtained a restraining order against Runtown, stopping him from performing any shows.

The court restrained Eric from enforcing the suspended orders of the court.

Runtown and his label, Eric Many has been locked in a seven months legal battle since 2018 after Runtown’s contract expired.

2. Oshiomole Replies US, UK, EU, Says ‘Nigeria not a Colony’

The national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole has reacted to the recent divergent views going on between the international community, US, UK, EU and President Muhammadu Buhari over the suspension of Justice Onnoghen.

Oshiomole in hi recent reaction on Monday warned the international community to trade with caution in their statements as Nigeria was not a colony of any foreign body but a foreign nation.

3. Speaker Dogara Officially Decamps to PDP

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has finally announced his official decamping from the APC to the PDP.

Dogara had been silent about his party affiliations. Although Dogara in 2018 had picked the PDP’s form to seek re-election,.

He announced his defection during plenary on Tuesday.

Two other APC lawmakers, Ahmed Yerima and Edward Pwajok, also decamped to the PDP.

4. Reps Pass N30, 000 National Minimum Wage Bill

The House of Representatives on Tuesday passed the bill raising the national minimum wage to N30, 000.

The bill was passed during plenary after the House considered the report of its ad hoc committee which had recommended N30,000 across boards.

The lawmakers approved N30,000 for both federal and state workers as against the N27,000 recommended by the National Council of State.

5. NJC Issues Onnonghen, Tanko Petition Ultimatums

The National Judicial Council, NJC after its emergency meeting in Abuja on Tuesday issued a seven-day ultimatum to the suspended chief justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnonghe and the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad.

Muhammad was mandated by the council to respond to a petition against him over an alleged breach of NJC rules.

The council will reconvene on February 11, 2019 for further actions against the erring judicial officers.

6. Woman Gives Birth During PDP Campaign in Delta

During PDP campaign rally in Isiokolo, Ethiope-East LGA of Delta state, a pregnant woman identified as Mrs.Otiri Benjamin was reportedly delivered of a baby girl.

iDonsabi learnt that the woman who went into labour was attended to by the Governor’s medical team present at the rally.

7. Nigerian Army Releases List of Enlisted Candidates for 2019 [See list]

The Nigerian Army has released its list of enlisted candidates into the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) and the Short Service Commission (SSC) for 2019.

Names of the enlistees were released on Monday by Major General Faruk Yahaya, Military Secretary (Army).

8. I Go to Bed Thinking about Nigerians – Buhari

The president on Monday during the closing ceremony of the Voter Education Workshop organized by the party in Abuja said his administration has no free money to share but it will continue to provide infrastructures with the limited resources available.

He then reassured the people to be hopeful as he has their interests at heart.

In his words, “I assure you that I go to bed and wake up thinking about Nigerians and Nigeria.’’

9. Atiku Capable of Uniting Nigeria — Jonathan

Former President, Goodluck Jonathan, says the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar is the man capable of uniting Nigeria together in peace.

Jonathan spoke on Tuesday at Ox-bow Lake Pavillion Yenagoa.

The former president also urged politicians to desist from using their political offices to punish people.

10. Armed Bandits Kidnap New Bride, Nursing Mothers in Zamfara

As though the recent outrage sparked by the kidnap of 7 family members 3 days ago was not enough, scores of people have also been kidnapped in Majema area of Zurmi LGA, Zamfara State.

Anonymous sources reported that among the recent scores kidnapped in the state were three nursing mothers, a new bride and some other residents of the village.
