Beware Of Fraudulent Entrepreneurship Training Institutes, CBN Warns

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has called on the general public to be careful in dealing with some Entrepreneurship Development Institutions (EDIs), purporting to be CBN-accredited EDIs.

These institutes persuade unsuspecting members of the public that they can help them in securing loans through the CBN Agri-Business Small and Medium Enterprises Investment Scheme (AGSMEIS).


Businessman In Court Over Alleged Land Fraud

A 55-year-old man, Abdulaziz Sheid, was on Tuesday arraigned in a Karu Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, over alleged land fraud.

The defendant, who resides at Jikwoyi, Abuja, is standing trial on a four-count charge of criminal breach of trust, cheating, criminal misappropriation and disobedience to an order of a public servant.


NDLEA Nabs Suspect With 77 Wraps Of Cocaine

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Tuesday, said it had arrested a suspected drug trafficker, who tried to smuggle 77 wraps of cocaine, weighing one kilogramme out of the country.

Head of Public Affairs of the agency, Mr Jonah Achema, stated this in a statement in Abuja.

Achema said that the 50-year-old suspect had ingested the wraps of cocaine but was nabbed at Kano International Airport during the outward screening of passengers of Tarco Airline, bound for Khartoum, Sudan.


El-Rufai Allegedly Threatens To Kill Foreign Election Observers

Kaduna state governor, Nasir el-Rufai has warned foreign powers who may interfere in Nigeria electoral process that they will leave the country in body bags.

The governor’s suggestion that they could be killed followed warnings from the United States, United Kingdom and the European Union to the federal government of visa restrictions over the perceived arbitration suspension from office of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen.


2019 Elections: INEC Insists On Simultaneous Voting/accreditation

Barely ten days to the Presidential election, the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has said it would not change its position on simultaneous accreditation and voting on polls day.

Festus Okoye, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee made the declaration on Wednesday at an interactive session with newsmen in Abuja.

Certain opposition parties particularly the People’s Democratic Party had demanded for the old arrangement where voters first queue up for accreditation to return to vote.


Buhari Has Failed Nigeria In All Aspects ― Titi Abubakar

Wife of former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Titi Atiku Abubakar, on Wednesday in Lagos said, President Muhammadu Buhari- led government has failed Nigeria in all aspects, declaring that the citizens did not enjoy the dividends of democracy they had anticipated when they voted for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015.

Titi Abubakar said this while speaking at the PDP Town Hall Meeting, which took place at the City Hall on Lagos Island, expressing disappointment at the development, while assuring that her husband, if voted into office, would run an inclusive government that would give accommodation to more women and youths.


Court Adjourns Wike’s Disqualification Suit

The Federal High Court, Abuja on Wednesday adjourned the suit seeking the disqualification of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State from contesting the state governorship election over alleged forgery of certificate of birth till February 13 just as the plaintiff (Elvis Chinda) asked the judge to recuse self from the matter.

When the matter slated for hearing yesterday before Justice Inyang Ekwo came up, Emmanuel Ukala (SAN) who held the brief of Chief Ferdinand O. Orbih (SAN) for Wike asked for a short adjournment to enable Orbih to handle the matter.


Elections: Osinbajo In Door-to-door Campaign In Aso Rock Villa

Ahead of the next Saturday Presidential election, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) has embarked on door-to-door campaign within the Aso Rock Villa to canvass for votes and re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Osinbajo, spared time after a town hall meeting at the Villa to visit some families to identify with them and seek support in the forthcoming election.


Ayuba Wabba Re-elected NLC President

Comrade Ayuba Wabba has been re-elected the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC)

Wabba, who was elected unopposed, will head a 16-member National Administrative Council (NAC), of NLC, who were equally elected unopposed to administer the affairs of NLC for the next four years.


Don’t Tax Minimum Wage, Wabba Begs FG On Re-election As President

Incumbent President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Ayuba Wabba has begged the Federal Government to exempt the new national minimum wage from taxation.

He said this after he was re-elected on Wednesday at the 12th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference of the Congress.
