Drug Trafficking: Buhari Directs AGF to Ensure Aliyu’s Safety Return to Nigeria

President Buhari Muhammadu has directed Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami to ensure the safe return of a Nigerian student, Zainab Aliyu awaiting execution for drug trafficking in Saudi Arabia to the country after reports from investigations revealed that she was innocent.

The hard drug is said to have been allegedly ‘planted’ in her luggage by syndicate group in the airport who specialize in planting hard drugs in travellers luggage.

Reduce Poverty By Boosting IGR, Osinbajo Asks Governors

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has urged governors to boost Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in the next four years to reduce poverty in their state.

Noting that the consequences of boosting states IGR will mitigate the challenges of malnutrition, illiteracy and out of school children, Osinbajo, who also asked state governors to operate in unity as the Federal Government is ready to support an all-party co-operation said the National Executive Council (NEC) will begin to look at more ways to effectively secure the country.

Seek Your Origin Elsewhere, Not Sokoto – Group Rejects Atiku

The ‘Concerned Citizens of Sokoto State has disclaimed the claims of the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Atiku Abubakar, telling him to seek his state of origin elsewhere, and not Sokoto State.

The State Coordinator of the Group retired Squadron Leader Aminu Bala Sokoto said the people of Wurno, as well as Sokoto State, strongly reject the claims of Abubakar, and does not regard him as a son of the soil.

Kogi Gov’t Says 38 Months Salaries Have Been Paid to Workers

The Kogi State government has denied the claims of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) accusing it non-payment of salary, saying it has paid its workers the 38 Months salaries since it came into office in 2016.

The Director-General of Media and Publicity to the Governor of the state, Kingsley Fanwo in a statement said the government is owing only four months’ salaries because it started paying from the period it was yet to assume office.

CAN Calls for El-Zakzazy, Dasuki and Shuiabu’s Release

The Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) has called on President Muhammdu Buhari to ensure the release of the National Security Adviser to former Pres. Goodluck Jonathan, Sambo Dauski  and the Leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria IMN, Ibrahim El-Zakzazy.

The Christian body via a statement also called on the Federal Government to secure the release of Sharibu Leah as well as the remaining Chibok girls, who have been in captivity of the Boko Haram since April 2014.

Fani-Kayode Lambastes Macron Over Civilisation Comment on Africa

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode in has come down hard on the President of France, Emmanuel Macron for saying the problem with the African continent is civilization.

Macron was wondering how a woman could give birth 6 to 8 children.

Fani-Kayode in response to Macron’s statement blasted the French President asking civilization has to do with fornicating with a teacher at the age of fifteen or marrying a woman who looks like one’s grandmother.
