Osun 2018: PDP Proceeds to Supreme Court

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said it will alongside its governorship candidate in the Osun state governorship election, Senator Ademola Adeleke, retrieve what it described “the stolen governorship mandate” at the Supreme court.

PDP further said it is not in any way shaken by the judgment of the Court of Appeal, which nullified the election of Adeleke as governor as ruled by the Osun state tribunal,but stands with Nigerians in the confidence that justice and respect for the will of the people of Osun state which it said will definitely prevail at the Supreme Court.

Court To Deliver Judgment in Onnoghen’s Appeal on Friday

The Appeal Court will deliver judgement in the various appeals filed by the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen on Friday.

It, however, remains unclear which of the appeals pending at the appeal court will be decided on Friday, but some of the appeals before the appellate court include an appeal against the decision of the chairman of the tribunal, Danladi Umar, who refused to recuse himself from the matter on allegation of bias by justice Onnoghen.

Buhari is Shedding His Clannish Nature – Omokri

Reno Omokri, a former aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan has commended the effort of President Muhammadu Buhari on the re-nomination of the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

Omokri pointed out that the re-nomination of the CBN boss comes as a sign that President Buhari is shedding his clannish nature.

Buhari set to launch the ”Clean Nigeria Use The Toilet’ campaign as FEC gives approval

The Minister Of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari will launch the ‘Clean Nigeria Use Toilet’ campaign very soon.

Buhari and other Federal Executive Councils members will also be the first sets of ambassadors for the Campaign while youths especially will have to join the promotion as well which is aimed at promoting a cleaner environment and ending open defecation in the country.

Jigawa House of Assembly impeaches Speaker

The Jigawa House of Assembly has impeached speaker, Isah Idris,on Thursday during an emergency seating with 20 of the 30 lawmakers being present.

Following the impeachment,  the House of Assembly of unanimously voted in Idris Garba Kareka as the new Speaker of the House.

Armed Bandits Murders 82-Year-Old Sokoto Community Head

The district head of Balle, Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto State, Ibrahim Aliyu has been murdered by armed bandits.

The gunmen invaded the area on six motorcycles and rapidly set the divisional police headquarters in the area, patrol cars and some personal vehicles on fire, killing an unidentified policeman along Karfen Sarki area.
