Security Threat: World Leaders Invited Are Safe, No Cause for Alarm – Lai Mohammed

The Minister of Information and National Orientation,  Lai Mohammed, has said there is no cause for alarm on security in spite of claims by the Directorate State Services (DSS) of plans by some members of the public to subvert President Mohammadu Buhari ‘s government.

The minister at a World Press Conference on May 29 inauguration of the president for a second term and the June 12 Democracy Day celebrations on Monday said he has no reason to doubt the credibility of the information he got.

Justice Oweibo gave the ruling for another hearing of argument on his application for bail on May 30th after the singer pleaded not guilty to the charges levied against him by the Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).

PDP Governorship candidate appeals to Akeredolu on high tuition fee

A Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Ondo State, Banjo Okunomo, has appealed to the Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to reduce the high tuition fees in the state tertiary institutions.

Okunomo in a statement while reacting to the closure of the two-state tertiary institutions which are, Adekunle Ajasin University and Ondo State University of Science and Technology stated that the students in the state institutions now pay N300,000, N250,000 and N200,000 as against the previous tuition fees of N120,000, N100,000 and N75,000 that had obtained for various courses.

Solomon Ogbeide, coach of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Lobi Stars Football Club has died during the early hours of Monday after struggling with a brief illness.

According to Shimmu, the Welfare officer of the club said that Ogbeide had suffered from low blood pressure before his death.
