Brighton vs Arsenal EPL December 2018 Preview and Scores
Preview
Brighton welcome Arsenal to the Falmer Stadium for some Boxing day Premier league action after losing against Bournemouth over the weekend.
Arsenal returned to winning ways by defeating Burnley at the Emirates thanks to a brace from Aubameyang and another goal from Alex Iwobi.
Brighton
Brighton are on their worst run of form since the beginning of the season having lost all of their last 3 games. They were also on a run of scoring at keast a goal in 10 consecutive games, before their weekend loss to Bournemouth.
The lie 13th on the table, 27 points from leaders Liverpool and 17 points from Fulham who are the least placed team.
Brighton are not in a particular bad form: four wins and two away draws from their last six matches in league and cup. But their defensive organisation is the standout feature of their side – they get 10 men behind the ball very quickly to protect the backline, which is the primary reason why only the current top seven have conceded fewer goals.
Brighton Team Talk
Izquierdo and Jahanbakhsh are doutbful for the game on Wednesday. Lewis Dunk is also suspended and so Chris Houghton will have to find a solution.
Arsenal
The Gunners beat Burnley 3-1 on Saturday to go level on points with fourth-placed Chelsea following the Blues’ shock 1-0 home defeat to Leicester City.
A win for Emery’s boys will definitely put them in serious contention for top 4 and a loss or draw will further dent their chances especially if Chelsea capitalise and Manchester United continue their rise.
In six of Arsenal last ten outings there have been over 3 goals scored. It was for the first time in their season, when on Saturday’s game against Burnley they went for a half-time holding a lead.
