Buhari To Leave Jordan for UAE Investment Meeting

– Buhari to attend Dubai on the invitation of the vice president with the expectatio to deliver a keynote speech.

– He is also expected to be briefed on the alleged involvement of five Nigerians in robbery incident on bureau de change.  

President Muhammadu Buhari will depart Amman, Jordan’s capital tomorrow, April 7, 2019 for Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) to participate in the ninth edition of the Annual Investment Meeting which will hold between  April 8-10, 2019.

Buhari at the World Economic Summit in Jordan in his keynote address told the international community that all the territories of Nigeria is safely in control of the Federal Government of Nigeria due to the efforts of the arms forces.

While pointing that his administration has made considerable improvement fighting against the Boko Haram insurgency in the North Eastern part of Nigeria, he said thousands of Nigerians held against their will have been liberated.

“Today, I am pleased to say no territory in the Federal Republic of Nigeria is held or controlled by Boko Haram”, he added.

Buhari who also noted that the world has changed urged every nation to be corporative. He added that cooperation amongst sovereign nations is no longer a choice, but It is an absolute necessity.

President Buhari was invited by His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rachid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, as a Guest of Honour at the investment meeting is expected to deliver the keynote address at the occasion on the theme, “Mapping the Future of Foreign Direct Investment: Enriching World Economies through Digital Globalization.”

“The largest gathering of corporate leaders, policymakers, businessmen, regional and international investors, entrepreneurs, leading academics and experts showcasing up-to-date information, strategies and knowledge on attracting FDI,” the organisers of the event say.

The meeting will be exploring investment opportunities in more than 140 countries, connect businesses and countries willing to engage in sustainable partnerships with investors.

President Buhari may also get a briefing by the authorities of UAE on the alleged involvement of five Nigerians in robbery incident on bureau de change.
