NAMA Installs Category II ILS At Benin Airport
Economic activities in the ancient city of Benin, the Edo State capital have received a boost following the commissioning of the recently installed Category II Instrument Landing System (ILS) at the Benin airport by the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).
Making this revelation at a town hall meeting with staff at the agency in Lagos, the Managing Director of NAMA, Captain Fola Akinkuotu said this was in line with an earlier pledge by the agency to upgrade navigational infrastructure in strategic airports across the country in a bid to boost socio-economic activities in such areas.
Controversy Trails FG’s Earmark Of N8.5bn For Nigeria Air
President of Aviation Round Table (ART), Elder Gabriel Olowo has criticized the Federal Government for earmarking N8.5bn for the suspended national carrier project, Nigeria Air in the 2019 budget proposal to the National Assembly.
This is just as he took a swipe at the government for setting aside the sum of N500m for Transaction Advisers in the budget, saying that a little of such an amount of money if allocated to technical professionals in the country, would give the government appropriate advice on how to go about the floating of a befitting national carrier for Nigerians.

Nigeria’s Air Peace airline has pledged to sustain its high safety standards and continue to strive to bring Nigeria honour in the global aviation industry after emerging Airline of the Year at Independent Awards 2018 held in Lagos.
Organizers of the awards, Independent Newspapers Limited said the airline was chosen for impacting the aviation industry in many great ways.
Nigeria Is Importing Unemployment, Requires 11 Millions Jobs Yearly —UN-EBAFOSA Coordinator
The Regional Coordinator, United Nations Environment Ecosystem Based Adaptation for Food Security Assembly (UN-EBAFOSA), Mr. Richard Munang, has declared that Nigeria is further importing unemployment into the country, in addition to its overwhelming youths unemployment.
Mr. Munang also stated that for Nigeria to address its youths unemployment situation, it needs to create 11 millions jobs annually.
FOBTOB Tasks Rewane Technical Advisory Committee On N30,000 Minimum Wage
The National body of Food, Beverage and Tobacco Senior Staff Association (FOBTOB) has tasked the Bismarck Rewane Technical Advisory Committee, recently inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari, on the N30,000 national minimum wage.
In a letter Addressed to Rewane, the Chairman of the Technical Advisory Committee, on Minimum Wage, the union advised him to ensure that all the previous committee reports be adopted quickly, so as to present positions that will aid the passage of the Minimum Wage Bill.
