Change Yourselves First, Then Ask for Change – Buhari

Since the current presidency took on the mantle of leadership, the most used word in Nigeria has been “change”. The word “change” has been used in sarcastic tones to denote various things.

Despite Nigerians crying out for change everyday, there is very little economic evidence of the the kind of change Nigerians seem to be asking for. This made evident by the current recession in the Nigerian economy.

President Muhammadu Buhari has however, posited that Nigerians should realise that change must start with them  in terms of shunning corruption and other social vices.

President Muhamadu Buhari made this statement while delivering a speech at the inauguration of the national reorientation campaign tagged “Change Begins With Me” in Abuja on the 8th of September, 2016.

The campaign was aimed at evoking social change that would lead to a decline in various corrupt practices by Nigerian citizens.
