Chelsea Climb Into Third Place With Win Over Watford

Chelsea are at the brink of Champions League qualification having secured a home victory over Watford, thanks to two quickfire goals by Loftus-Cheek and David Luiz all setup through the magic of Eden Hazard.

Gonzalo Higuain then added a third in the 75th minute to cap the win that moves them into third place on the Premier League standings.

The London Blues having secured a total point tally of 71 points are now a point above North London club, Tottenham and five ahead of Arsenal who have a game in hand against Brighton and Hove Albion.

After a frenzied first half which had Watford create the most chances through Troy Deeney, Deulofeu and Jose Holebas, the London Blues came out flying in the second half with the intent of getting all three points with Eden Hazard showing why he is indeed Chelsea’s best player.

After a one-two short corner between Hazard and Pedro, the former lifted the ball into the box with a pinpoint cross which found the head of Loftus-Cheek who guided it home for the first goal of the game.

Minutes later, David Luiz got the second with a powerful header straight from a direct corner taken by Eden Hazard.

Later on it was Gonzalo Higuain who got himself on the scoresheet this time having missed several chances and making a mockery of himself in front of Chelsea supporters.

This time, he made a one-two pass with Pedro in the build-up to the goal before opening up himself for a return pass from the Spaniard. He lobbed the ball over Ben Foster from a really tight angle and there was only one place that ball could end up – inside the net.

Players, fans and families then with claps and cheers welcomed club captain, Gary Cahill onto the pitch for possibly his last game in a blue shirt with the Captain having spent six and a half years at the club.
Chelsea 3-0 Watford it ended.
