Chelsea Test Players For Coronavirus

Chelsea put a hold on their training plans ahead of their Premier League clash with Aston Villa. The Blues have had their training plans disrupted as coronavirus fears continues to grow.

To prevent the risks posed by the virus, the training centre underwent a deep cleaning according to a report by Goal.

The report also suggests that the Blues players were tested for the virus.

English boss, Frank Lampard alongside his mates are poised to return to training on Friday and conduct pre-match talks ahead of their Premier League encounter with Villa.

590 individuals have now tested positive to the virus in the UK while the death cases have risen to 10 with the World Health Organization declaring the incident as a pandemic.

Though none of the players of the Stamford Bridge is understood to have come down with the virus. Yet, the club is doing all within their means to limit the spread of the virus.

Elsewhere, Leicester manager, Brendan Rodgers Rodgers that three of his first-team squad were showing symptoms of the pandemic.

“We’ve had a few players that have shown symptoms and signs (of coronavirus). We’ve followed procedures and (as a precaution) they have been kept away from the squad,” Rodgers said at his press conference ahead of Saturday’s clash with Watford.

“Of course, from a football perspective, it would be a shame, but the public’s health is the most important aspect in all of this.”

So far, only one Premier League game has been affected by Coronavirus concerns – the game between Arsenal and Manchester City. The game was suspended after some Arsenal players came on contact with Olympiacos owner who was confirmed to have tested positive to the virus.
