Chelsea Vs Huddersfield 2 February Review

Hazard and Higuain both scored braces as Chelsea crushed Huddersfield 5-0 in what was an emphatic victory over the poorest side in the division.

There was so much pressure on Maurizio Sarri after the 4-0 trashing at the hands of Bournemouth with several quarters of football quarters questioning the Italian gaffer’s tactics and his decision to keep playing Ngolo Kante in an attacking midfielder’s role.

However, Sarri was quick to silence his critics with Kante bagging a brace of assists and his loan signing, Gonzalo Higuain notching two goals.

Ross Barkley and Eden Hazard made the first moves at goal but their chances came begging as they searched for an early breakthrough.

They found the breakthrough they needed in the 16th-minute when Ngolo Kante turned provider and released Higuain to fire high into the net to score the first of a series of goals to come.

Chelsea doubled their lead within first half-stoppage time when right-back Cesar Azpilicueta was brought down in the box by Kachunga. Hazard made no mistake about it as he converted from the spot to give the Londoners a second goal.

Willain lost a chance gifted him by Hazard while on the other end, a tackle by Andreas Christensen on Kachunga made room for penalty appeals but they all fell on deaf ears of the referee.

Sixty minutes gone in the match and Eden Hazard finished the ball from a tight angle after receiving a ball from Ross Barkley.

Chelsea weren’t done yet as Gonzalo Higuain picked up a pass from Kante and shot it into the far right top corner or Lossl goal in what is to be a major contender for goal of the season.

The London Blues soon wrapped this up with David Luiz winning the header. The Brazilian chose power over technique as his ball was met by a visiting defender on its way in.
