It was a scintillating encounter at the Brigde that saw 4 goals produced, two from Chelsea and two from Man Utd, to grace the high-profile clash of two premier league heavyweights.
The match started in a usual fashion with both sides looking to get ahead. Chelsea passing the ball around and Machester United trying to organise defensively and hit on a counter.
And after just 21 minutes played, Willian powers a corner from the right and Rudiger escapes the clutches of Pogba and into the far corner beyond a helpless De Gea 1 – 0 to Chelsea.
Alonso would come close to scoring by trapping a long pass played inside to him from Rudiger. It’s a difficult ball to bring down and his touch is heavy which takes it through to De Gea to end the half.
The second half started with Willian coming close through a corner kick, which saw David De Gea palm that to safety.
And just as it pooked like United were not in the game at all, Shaw’s crosses for Mata to shoot, and Kepa spills the shot but the Spaniard is quickest to react and cross in again. Kovacic leaped to head the ball clear unto the path of Young who fires back in.
The ball deflected off Jorginho to land at the feet of Martial, who takes one touch before rifling into the corner. 1-1 game on!
At the 73rd minute, Mata dinks a pass to Rashford on the other side after catching Luiz out-of-position. He in turn feeds Martial on the edge of the area. Martial controls the ball past Azpilicueta and curves a lovely finish past Kepa to put united in front from a goal down!
At this point the game got more intense as Chelsea looked frantically to reply. And they got it as Luiz hits the woodwork from a header from the edge of the 18 yard as the chelsea players rush into the box, Rudiger fires a follow-up shot which was saved by De Gea but a third shot is scored by Ross Barkley!
Goal equalized which just 17 seconds left! After the goal there ws a scuffle at the pitch-side involving Mourinho and one of chelsea’s coaches while the latter was celebrating. But Mourinho said after the match that Ianni, the chelsea coach has apologised for his overcharged celebrations.
Chelsea maintained their unbeaten start to the seaon and Man Utd will feel they could have the game today.
