Chelsea vs Manchester United FA Cup 18 February Preview

Chelsea and Manchester United will lock horns in the fifth round of the FA Cup in what is expected to be an explosive time. While Chelsea will be coming off the back of an Europa League win against Malmo, the memories of their 6-0 loss to Manchester City will still remain fresh in their minds.

Manchester United on the other hand have seen their unbeaten run thwarted by Paris Saint Germain.

Chelsea

Chelsea have just been dealt a reality check in their 6-0 loss to Manchester City despite employing the services of ace striker, Gonzalo Higuain.

Prior to that match, goal scoring seemed to be the only problem of the London Blues but the devastating loss to the Citizens have exposed the weakness of the whole team with full-back positions particularly vulnerable positions.

The FA Cup seems like a good chance for Maurizzio Sarri to redeem himself with the Premier League not in sight and a win in the final match against City in the EFL Cup seemingly unlikely.

Sarri would be looking to exploit the weakness of Manchester United who have just lost some of their key players to injuries.

Manchester United

Manchester United will be gutted by a humbling loss to Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League which has seen their unbeaten run under the reins of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer come to an end and also seen them lose key attacking players in Lingard and Anthony Martial.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be faced with serious problems of team selection with the team having to face Chelsea, Liverpool, PSG, Arsenal and Manchester City on the bounce.

A top-four finish would be a big achievement for Manchester United under the management of the care-taker manager but the Norwegian gaffer would be willing to lay his hands on a silverware just for brags.

A win against Chelsea will give the red devils all the confidence boost they need in their tough upcoming fixtures.
