Coronavirus: Rashford Helps Charity Organisation Deliver Free Meals To Children

Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford has been busy putting smiles on the faces on people during the league’s indefinite break. The England International has been helping out at a local charity.

Rashford has been helping out at Fareshare, doing his little bits of delivering food to children and families ruthin within that locale who depend on free school means, a source they’ve been denied since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Englishman said he was spurred by his childhood experiences to help out, after several schools across the country shut down due to the pandemic.

Rashford said to the BBC:

“In the past I have done a lot of work in regards to children and when I heard about the schools shutting down, I knew that meant free meals for some kids that they are not getting at school.

“I remember when I was at school I was on free meals and my mum wouldn’t get home until around six o’clock so my next meal would have been about eight. I was fortunate, and there are kids in much more difficult situations that don’t get their meals at homes.

“It is very important, it is at the top of my to-do list. In our generation there have been a lot of positive and negative influences. I am just trying to impact the next generation in a positive way.”

Rashford in a tweet shared on Saturday celebrated a cumulative £100,000 sum he had donated to FareShare, a sum which cam help the charity organisation provide 400,000 meals for children across Britain.

Rashford’s side, Manchester United and their noisy neighbours as they are popularly called (Manchester City) have also been actively involved in the battle against Coronavirus.

Both clubs donated a combined £100,000 to local food banks to see them through the Coronavirus crisis.
