Court Orders Permanent Forfeiture of 13bn Ikoyi Money

The Lagos judicial division of the Federal High Court has ordered the final forfeiture of the 13 billion naira found in Ikoyi, Lagos State, as nobody has claimed the money or shown why the money should not be forfeited to the federal government.

On April 12th 2017, the EFCC recovered the sums of 23 million naira, 43 million dollars and 27,800 pounds from flat 7b, Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos. The EFCC approached the court, seeking a temporary forfeiture of the money and till date no individual has come before the court to claim the money.
