COVID-19 Nigeria Update Today
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed new 170 cases of COVID-19, bringing the total confirmed cases to 2558,
The information released on its Twitter handle revealed that there was 39 from Lagos, 29 from Kano, 24 from Ogun 18 from Bauchi, 15 from Kaduna 12 each from FCT and Sokoto, 8 from Katsina, 7 from Borno, three from Nasarawa, two form Adamawa and one from Oyo state.
Out of the 2558 confirmed cases of COVID19 in Nigeria 400 have been discharged while 87 have died.

Mufti to govt: Don’t open schools, religious centres,
The Mufti of the Conference of Islamic Organisations (CIO), Sheikh Dhikrullah Shafi’I, has urged the government nationwide not to toy with the idea of opening schools and religious centres.
The cleric also warned those who are operating partial lockdown to reverse to full lockdown due to the increase in Coronavirus cases across the country.
According to him, more stringent measures needed to curb the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Lagos gov’t tells discharged patients to self-isolate for 14 days
The Lagos State Government has advised discharged COVID—19 patients to go on self-isolation for 14 days.
The advice was given by the state’s Commissioner for Health, Dr. Akin Abayomi on Sunday during the briefing on Coronavirus management.
The state government has set up telephone hotlines to enable residents report anyone or persons flouting its guidelines on easing the lockdown in the state from today. The hotlines are: 0901-051-3197, 0901-051-3198 and 0901051-3199.
Wife, son of deceased patient test positive in Osun
Osun state government has revealed that its two new Coronavirus cases are the wife and son of a patient who died of the virus.
The mother and son tested positive to the virus, bringing the state’s total to 36, according to a statement released by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola’s Chief Press Secretary Ismail Omipidan on Sunday which quoted Health Commissioner Dr. Rafiu Isamotu.

According to the commissioner, the two new cases were confirmed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday.
‘Chloroquine aided recovery of six patients in Bauchi’
Bauchi state Health Commissioner Dr. Aliyu Maigoro has said an anti-malaria drug, Chloroquine aided the recovery of six Coronavirus patients in Bauchi State, including Governor Bala Mohammed,
While backing the governor’s stand on chloroquine treatment, Maigoro in his address to reporters yesterday in a telephone interview said five other patients who were discharged about two weeks ago after the governor’s recovery were also given a dose of the anti-malaria drug.
